Zombie Brigade 2 When I started and just had the first pistol I thought this game was going to be tedious because the pistol was really slow and it was imposible to last for more than 15 seconds. But when I got to better weapons, I started to see the fun in this game. There's lots of variety with the weapons and with the zombie types. The songs from mean bean machine are a bop too. This game is really impressive and full of features for I scratch game.
However, and this may be a fun or a bad thing depending of the point of view, the game has a lot of glitches. I'll list them here if someone wants to try it out:
- The weapon store has no max number so theres just a lot of empty slots after the perfect gun.
- If you load nothing to the save file system you get a save where you can't buy guns but you get this weird combination between the ricochet and the perfect gun.
- It's really easy to hack the savefile system by just replacing all the 0s to 1s and changing the first number to 999 to get max money. I would advise the creator to implement a simple encryption system to prevent cheating.
- Sometimes the timer doesnt stop after the game over screen and so you can just win waves by doing nothing.
- If you shoot a zombie from to close the bullet dissapears but the zombie doesnt die.
Again, this isn't necesarilly bad. It's really fun to try out glitches in games, especially nowadays because everyone patches their games. It gives it that classic flash game charm some of the most popular newgrounds games are known for. If I had to choose, I would just patch that last zombie thing because I lost quite a few times because of that.
The only critisism I would give to the game as a whole is that the difficulty curve is all backwards. It starts out imposible and then ends up being too easy because of the op weapons. Some people like it like that but personally I think it feels like I'm just grinding. Good thing that wasnt much of a problem because I hacked my savefile lolololol. Maybe in the later waves it becomes hard even for the op weapons, but the earlier ones became so easy I got bored by wave 3. I'll probably come back to see if it loops forever or if its a set amount of waves like bloons.
I have spent way more time than I should've writing a review for a random game I've found just out of curiosity to see the under judgement games. The thing is, seeing this game reminded me of how I started out making scratch games too and I found it super impressive. Please keep making games, kid. And never stop making things that you find fun. That sounds super generic but it holds more weight than what I've used to think.
But yeah, jolly good game. Would come back for the threequel. :)
